Olga Lonska’s words resonate deeply — the serene outdoor garden, shaded by a magnificent magnolia tree, offers a tranquil retreat perfect for sipping slowly while soaking in nature’s calm. Customer service here is consistently praised for warmth and attentiveness. Samin Amanat’s shoutout to Gabby, a barista whose genuine smile lights up the space, reflects the kind of personalized care this location fosters. It’s this human touch that transforms a simple coffee run into a memorable social exchange. Even though some visitors, like Sean Thompson, have noted the modest size of the shop and shared restrooms located just across the yard with a key-access system, the overall experience tends to overshadow these minor inconveniences.
For a spot that feels both authentically local and connected to Peet’s storied coffee tradition, this Lafayette café stirs the soul a little — where familiar favorites meet sincere community vibes. Whether you’re grabbing a quick cold brew or settling in for a leisurely morning with a perfectly crafted latte and flaky pastry, Peet’s Coffee on Mount Diablo Boulevard invites you to savor the moment and the remarkable flavors that come with it.
I look forward to coming here every time I travel to this area for work. The baristas are fantastic, super friendly, the coffee is delicious and you can't beat their morning buns
Good location, quaint but cramped, good customer service. Someone was patient with me ordering a ice fruit drink as I don't know their menu or what I really liked as I'm not a Peets regular customer. Bathrooms are kinda far away and shared. Bathrooms need to be cleaned more thoroughly and frequently as their was urine on the ground.

Peet’s Coffee in Lafayette is a cozy and inviting spot, perfect for both coffee lovers and remote workers. The indoor seating includes dedicated laptop-friendly spaces, while the outdoor garden area is peaceful and spacious, featuring a beautiful magnolia tree. Parking is plentiful and convenient. The restroom is located just across the yard, but you’ll need to grab a key, which hangs on the wall inside the coffee shop. A great place to enjoy a good cup of coffee and get some work done!
I used to come to this Peets coffee every Sunday morning with friends. We’d also grab a Noah’s Bagle and hang out in back. Over the years, I started going to other Peets but this one still holds a place in my heart. It always smells great, is super clean and the staff is helpful. I love the courtyard in back though every time I go there I wonder just how much better that area could be if the landlord gave any effort to improve it. The courtyard behind Peets could be the best place in Lafayette but since it hasn’t been touched in the last 20 years, I doubt it will. Nevertheless, the space in back still enhances the visit to Peets so give it a try and let me know what you think.
